Samples made during Weaving IST taught by Brigitte Dalmaijer and Edith van Berkel of the Jongerius Lab. I also joined the Masterclass by Hella Jongerius herself - in the end I won together with a few others. In this Masterclass it became clear to me that you have to use your passion. For me that’s making something really beautiful out of material that’s considered trash or inferior.

Tuareg Interpretation

A modern interpretation of Tuareg jewellery. ‘I took basic shapes that reference the Tuareg and produced these in unpractical proportions. The metal pieces felt and looked unfunctional - the challenge was to make them functional again through use of the entire body’.
