Inventory of Found Things

‘Over the last months I have been working partly from home for my internship atelier. During the stricter corona isolation times I started gathering many different materials and small random objects.
All of the bioplastic wrappings, cellulose fruit nets, flowers, sticks, foils, metal bits and pieces could be seen as waste but as soon as you assemble them, they seem to revalue each other’.

Fragments of Information

Material-based research project I started during quarantine. I used plastic bags which I shredded and crocheted with. The idea was to try and enhance the value of this seemingly worthless material through textile handcraft. I also worked with different heating and melting techniques to create a distortion, manipulating the plastic from one form into another.

Group project from 2019 where we worked with different departments to create a new, sustainable souvenir for London. We decided to collect and rework garbage and discarded objects from the streets of London; in the end we created a mobile out of these.

Tuareg Interpretation

A modern interpretation of Tuareg jewellery. ‘I took basic shapes that reference the Tuareg and produced these in unpractical proportions. The metal pieces felt and looked unfunctional - the challenge was to make them functional again through use of the entire body’.
