The idea for this design is a woman of lesser means that has an anger against the capitalist system. Her alter ego goes to casinos at night to steal money from the rich. The design approach is to alter a shirt with affordable and easy-to-do techniques. Cutting seams or shifting seamlines. Reassembling. The print I developed is done by hand, using a sponge and paint to create dots. Embroidered on top are pieces of tule and beads. I needed it to be OTT because this woman is not shy (hence the contrasting sticker-like dots) and needs to fit into the casino setting.
